The "Wastewater Treatment Facility" project, implemented by Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality in the district of Elbistan, is rapidly rising. The giant facility, which was built on a total area of 92 decares, will both meet an important need of the region and contribute to the protection of nature and the environment with its advanced biological treatment technologies.

The treatment plant area is located on the Elbistan – Afşin road in the Karaelbistan locality. The treated water discharge place is the Ceyhan River. The wastewater collected in the sewerage system throughout the district of Elbistan reaches the facility entirely by gravity. In the Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 22.567 m3/day, 8.24 million m3 of wastewater will be purified annually and discharged to the receiving environment without causing any environmental pollution.

80.08% of the project, whose construction period is 57 months, is financed by the European Union, 8.97% by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and the remaining ,96 by Kahramanmaraş Municipality.

In the Elbistan Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is aimed to be completed until 03.09.2022 and serve the Elbistan district,  there will be many different buildings such as 3 pre-settlement tanks, 3 anaerobic biophosphorus tanks, 3 aeration tanks, 3 post settling distribution structures, 3 sludge drying units, 2 gas storage tanks, 2 anaerobic sludge digesters, main buildings, grid structures and administrative buildings.

The formwork and scaffolding systems of the project, whose main contractor was Arbiogaz, one of the leaders of the environmental technologies sector, were solved by İntek. Of the formwork and scaffolding materials previously purchased from Intek for the Şırnak Treatment Plant, the used and ready to use materials were adapted to this project with the work done by İntek's project group, and the missing materials were supplied from İntek.

İntek Formwork and Scaffolding systems and their quantities used in the project are as follows;Formwork Systems Given by İntek Formwork and Scaffolding:

Ventilation pool walkways and Transformer building slab formwork: H = 485 – 670 cm A = 400 m2 – t = 15-20 cm HD 150 “Load-Bearing Shoring System’’

Sludge digester curtain formwork: H = 340 cm – A = 272 m2 ADP + Full set climbing system

Final collapse wall formwork: H = 465 cm – A = 195.3 m2 ADP (The given mold was later used in the phosphorus pool.)

Ventilation pool curtain formwork: H = 660 cm – A = 340 m2 PANEMAX

Final Settlement Column Form: H : 630 cm A = 53 m2 column form PANEMAX

Ventilation Pool Blacksmith Pier: H = 660 cm L = 12 mtül MULTİTEK

Taking part as a solution partner in many out-standing projects in the country and abroad with its quality products and customer-oriented service approach, İntek has been also preferred this European Union-supported environmental project and added a new one to its successful references.
