Istanbul New Airport project, which will take Turkey’s role in international aviation market further, has been being constructed on a 76,5 million m² of area in the European side of Istanbul, between Tayakadin by the coast of Blacksea and Akpinar village. To consist of three terminals and six runways which will have possibly 200 million passanger capacity per year, the Istanbul New Airport project is planned to be completed in four phases. At first step, it will be accomplished 3 units of independent parallel runways, taxi ways, apron, terminal building, air traffic, communication and meteorology system as well as other service buildings. The first passanger terminal building will be the biggest one in the world under a single roof in 1,3 million m² and this terminal will serve 90 million passangers per year at the first stage. During the oncoming phases of the project, this capacity will reach 150 million with its additional terminal buildings and runways. Essential plannings are being performed considering the fact that the airport terminal capacity will expand up to 200 million passengers in the long term. The construction of terminal building on TB1 and TB3 sections, which have the size of 456.000 m² out of 1,3 million m², has been being realized by VMK Construction. Separated into totally five sections, the construction of scaffolding buildings on PB2 section, which has the size of about 56.000 m², has been being performed by Biha-Tevaz Joint Venture. VMK Construction and Biha-Tevaz Joint Venture have preferred İNTEK as solution partner on formwork and scaffolding systems.
The slab system of terminal building consists of cast-in-place beams and prefabricated slabs. It was utilized HD 150 tableform system and Panemax panel formwork system on cast-in-place beams of the project, which possess massive floor height as 12 meters. The foldable barriers assembled to tables have added a huge labour safety and velocity to the system.
Thanks to İNTEK designs accelerating the operations after simplifying and prioritizing labour safety at the same time, the circular columns in the dimensions of Ø200 and Ø150 cm and height of 11,40 meters were formed in a rapid way following their daily concrete casting.
